How to Set Up Travel Notifications
Security threats are everywhere these days, including overseas. By setting up travel notifications before your trip, you'll be letting BECU know where you'll be so we'll know it's really you making those charges.
All that's left is to notify your financial institutions that yes, you will be traveling and no, that $180 skydiving charge once you're there isn't fraudulent.
Members can elect to call us or set up travel notifications online via Online Banking.
How to Submit Your Travel Plans:
- Log on to Online Banking
- Click Account Services found in the upper right-hand corner
- Select Travel Notification
- Alternatively, if you're already logged into BECU, you can go directly to Online Banking's Travel Notification.
You can include multiple destinations - don't forget to add airport layovers where you might be tempted to buy a snack. Travel notifications can be set as far as 60 days in advance, and for as long as a 90-day travel period.
If the trip is longer than 90 days, or, if there are multiple account holders traveling at once (e.g., your spouse is on a business trip while the rest of the family heads to Mexico), you'll need to call or send a secure message to notify us of your travel plans.
The best part? You're traveling! Rest assured that you're using a card packed with the global security features backed by BECU, Visa® or Mastercard®.
