Income for Life

Will your savings last as long as you do? One of the top concerns of pre-retirees is that they will not have the money they need to enjoy a comfortable retirement. Fortunately, there are strategies that can help address your long-term income needs. Find out how an annuity could help you accumulate funds for retirement, manage taxes, fight the effects of inflation, and generate an income you can't outlive.

Generally, annuity contracts have fees and expenses, limitations, exclusions, holding periods, termination provisions, and terms for keeping them in force. Most annuities have surrender charges that are assessed if the contract owner surrenders the annuity. Withdrawals of annuity earnings are taxed as ordinary income. Withdrawals prior to age 59 1/2 may be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty. Any guarantees are contingent on the claims-paying ability and financial strength of the issuing insurance company.

Variable annuities are sold by prospectus. Please consider the investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses carefully before investing. The prospectus, which contains this and other information about the variable annuity contract and the underlying investment options, can be obtained from your financial professional. Be sure to read the prospectus carefully before deciding whether to invest.

Roadmap to Retirement-Mile Marker Conversations to Consider

For years, retirement planning focused on the accumulation of retirement assets - but that is only the beginning of the retirement journey. This roadmap introduces important conversations that investors should consider having with their financial professional. The retirement journey begins with saving for the future, and then travels through asset allocation, consolidation, protection and tax diversification, and finally drives to retirement income and wealth transfer. Having conversations about these topics throughout your retirement journey and at the appropriate “mile markers” we can help you travel safely to your retirement destination.
