How do I activate my new debit card?

You can make a transaction using your PIN at any ATM or point-of-sale terminal. Or, you can activate your new debit card in Online Banking.

Can I use my new debit card immediately after it's activated?

Yes, you can use your debit card for signature-based transactions that are run as credit. You'll need your PIN before your card can be used for debit/PIN-based transactions.

Can I activate my card and change the PIN in the same Online Banking session?

Yes. Follow these steps to activate your card and change your PIN:

  1. Log in to Online Banking.

  2. Select the Account Services tab.

  3. Select Manage Your Debit Card.

  4. Select the card you want to activate. Enter your account number and expiration date.

  5. Select Activate my card.

  6. Select Change my PIN on the card you just activated.

  7. Enter your new PIN. Confirm your new PIN.

  8. Click Confirm PIN change.

I paused my debit card and it expired. Will I receive a new debit card in the mail?

If your card expires while it's paused, BECU will not reissue a new card to you. In this case, please call us at 800-233-2328, send us a message in Mobile Messenger, or visit any BECU location to have a new one printed.

How do I change my PIN in Online Banking?

Follow these steps to change your PIN:

  1. Log in to Online Banking.

  2. Select the Account Services tab.

  3. Select Manage Your Debit Card.

  4. Select Change my PIN on the card you want to change the PIN.

  5. Enter your new PIN. Confirm your new PIN.

  6. Click Confirm PIN change.

I just changed my PIN in Online Banking. Can I use it now?

Yes, you can use your new PIN immediately.

I changed my PIN online and I just received my PIN mailer. Which PIN do I use?

If you change your PIN in Online Banking, the PIN mailer you received is no longer valid. Please continue to use the PIN that you set up in Online Banking.

When will I receive my PIN?

If you're expecting a PIN, it should arrive in a separate mailer within 7-10 business days. Or, you can change your PIN at any time in Online Banking.

I never received my PIN, how do I activate my card online?

You can activate your card in Online Banking without your PIN. If you didn't receive your PIN, or you don't know your PIN, call us at 800-233-2328 or visit any BECU location for assistance.

I never received my PIN, how do I use my card at physical retailers?

You must enter your PIN to successfully conduct point-of-sale purchases and ATM transactions.

You can conduct signature-based transactions that are run as credit without entering a PIN.

When will I receive my new debit card after it's ordered?

Your debit card takes 7-10 days to arrive. If you still haven't received your card by business day 10, please call us 800-233-2328, send us a Message in Mobile Messenger or visit any BECU location.

Need your debit card immediately? Visit one of our many BECU locations where we can print a new card for you on-site.
