BECU Membership Eligibility
If you live, work, or go to school in Washington state, you're eligible for BECU membership.
Individuals in select counties of Oregon, Idaho, South Carolina or with affiliation to BECU partners like Boeing, may also be eligible. For more information on specific eligible states, counties, affiliations, and partnerships, visit the membership eligibility page.

To open a credit union account online, you'll need:
- Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification (TIN)
- Valid U.S. government-issued ID (e.g., a driver's license, state ID or passport)
- Contact information with street address and phone number
You may be asked to verify your address with a utility bill or similar document.
Anyone can apply for a BECU account, but you must be in our field of membership. To be in our field of membership:
- You live, work, worship or attend school in certain geographies.
- You are a part of an affiliated organization.
- If neither of the above apply, BECU may donate to a qualifying association on your behalf.
