BECU Membership Eligibility
Opening an account with BECU means joining our credit union and becoming a member. Currently, anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in Washington state can qualify and be eligible for BECU membership. Residents of select counties in Oregon and Idaho, as well as members of partner associations are also eligible.

Membership is free and starts when you open an account. See if you qualify through one of the following criteria:
How to Join
Join online or in person by opening an account. You will need each applicant's:
Social Security number
Date of birth
Valid ID (driver's license or state-issued ID)
Contact information, such as address and phone number
*Family members include the following, whether by law or by descent: parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, cousin, spouse, in-law, domestic partner, a person in a committed intimate relationship. After the death of a BECU member, any family member of the decedent is eligible for membership for 36 months after the date of death. After the death of a person who had been eligible for membership, such person's family member is eligible for membership indefinitely.
