Business Membership Eligibility
When you become a business member1, you'll get access to the banking products and services your business needs to grow and thrive. Check the list below to learn more about BECU's field of membership and BECU business membership eligibility.
BECU's Field of Membership Includes:
Eligible Communities (including Neighborhoods and Rural Districts)
Businesses with more than half of their owners, members, or employees living, working, worshiping, attending school, or businesses having office locations in the following communities:
- Washington state: All counties
- Oregon Counties: Benton, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Coos, Curry, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Washington, or Yamhill counties
- Idaho Counties: Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Clearwater, Idaho, Kootenai, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, or Shoshone counties.
Eligible Occupational Groups
Businesses with more than half of their owners, members, or employees belonging to the following occupational groups:
- The Boeing Company, credit unions, and credit union service organizations.
- Subsidiaries or affiliates currently or previously owned or operated in whole or in part by BECU, The Boeing Company, credit unions, and credit union service organizations.
Eligible Associational Groups
Businesses with more than half of their owners, members, or employees being members of, or donors to, the following associational groups:2
- Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSO) located anywhere in the U.S.
- Go West Foundation
- BECU Foundation
- University of Washington Alumni Association
- Washington State University Alumni Association
- KEXP
- Sea Hawkers Central Council
Excluded Business Types
Although the following business types may be within our field of membership provided above, BECU does not currently open accounts for, or extend membership to:
- Internet gambling businesses
- Marijuana dispensaries
- Money services (payday loans, check cashing, etc.)
Join BECU Online or in Person
Step 1:
Make sure your business is eligible for BECU business membership.
Step 2:
Please collect the following to apply for business membership:

Personal identification for all authorized signer(s).

Email and phone number for all authorized signer(s).

Business tax ID (or EIN/ITIN/SSN).

UBI/state registry number (refer to your business license).

NAICS code (locate your NAICS code).

Schedule an in-person appointment with a BECU representative or schedule an online session with a member of our video banking team. Please come prepared with the required business documents.
1Establishing membership requires a Business Member Share savings account to be opened and maintained; not all applicants will qualify.
2From time to time and at BECU's sole discretion, we may donate to one of the above listed Associational Groups on behalf of the business owners or the business employees for purposes of qualifying the business for BECU business membership eligibility.
