As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, BECU is guided by the credit union belief that people, helping people, can make a difference.
In 1935, new employees for The Boeing Company were required to purchase their own tools before they could start work. Since this was the height of the Great Depression, it was hard to afford those tools. Eighteen employees gathered together and each put in $0.50, for a total of $9. Their first loan was for $2.50 to a fellow employee.
Today, we hold more than $15 billion in assets and have over 950,000 members.
We're proud to carry on that same tradition of community – at BECU, we're lifting each other up. We offer services designed to improve the economic and social well-being of all members.

We also work with other credit unions as part of the CO-OP Network, which means that our members can use CO-OP Network ATMs without surcharges and can receive banking services at any of our partner branches.
As our membership base grows and expands, we expand our geographic locations and our virtual reach so that our members continue to receive the best value and service with complete trust.
