IDCheck Enhanced Identity Verification

IDCheck is a fraud prevention system used throughout our shared branch network.

Credit union members using an out-of-state ID at a shared branch location are required to complete additional steps to verify their identity when making withdrawals.

How It Works

If you use an out-of-state ID to make a cash or check withdrawal at a shared branch location, a representative will direct you to scan a QR code with your mobile device camera that launches the IDCheck process.

  1. Scan the QR code when you are at the branch to launch ID Check in your phone's web browser or visit verify.coop.org.
  2. Tap Step 1: Scan ID.
  3. Enter the name of your credit union (BECU).
  4. Enter your account number.
  5. Enter the last four digits of your Social Security number.
  6. Agree to the terms.
  7. Take photos of your government-issued ID. Follow the on-screen instructions. Grant camera access if necessary.
  8. Take a photo of yourself.
  9. Save your ID and photo for future visits.
  10. After verifying and authenticating your information, the system will provide you with a one-time passcode that is valid for 20 minutes.
  11. Show your code to a credit union representative, and follow their instructions to complete the process.

We encourage you to save your ID and photo. If you do, next time you visit you'll receive your one-time passcode as soon as you scan the QR code, skipping steps 2 through 9.
