Meet Terri – She Wants You to Check Your Credit
The BECU Member Spotlight is a monthly blog feature where we take some time to learn more about BECU's most important asset - our members. Meet Terri!
How long have you been a BECU member?
Since June of 2004. I became a member when I bought my first brand new vehicle. It was a 2004 Red Toyota 4-door pickup truck. The truck provided me with a way to drive my daughter, son, and friends, with their sporting gear to Hockey, Baseball and Football. I paid it off and passed it down to my Son in 2010 when he was 17-years-old. I always thought you had to be a Boeing employee and am thankful I discovered that is not the case and that BECU is everyone's credit union!
What do you love most about BECU?
I feel like a valued member. The representatives at the Member Contact Center and those that greet you in person and at the branches are always helpful and friendly. There is one very special employee at BECU in the Loan & Mortgage department; Steve Wilde, Mortgage Advisor. I worked with Steve in 2017 and again in 2018 to obtain a home refinance. My refinance came with very special circumstances, and Steve was always polite, friendly, concise, informative and responsive. I will continue to recommend BECU to anyone for personal banking, auto loans and now home mortgages. Absolutely terrific service!
If you could retire anywhere, where would it be?
My heart is in Mazatlán, Mexico. I fell in love with the culture, activities, fun in the sun and friends. My partner in life likes the seasons and rain, so I guess that we will be snowbirds of sorts, and enjoy a mix of boating and camping in the beautiful Northwest, and live part time in Mazatlán, along with other travels.
If you had to eat one meal, every day, for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That is a tough question because I love to cook! Cooking is like my "craft or art." I could eat seafood; shrimp, Dungeness crab, and salmon the rest of my life.
What has been the best piece of financial advice you have ever received?
