Debit Card Fraud Alerts
How we notify you if we detect suspicious activity.
Our system monitors accounts for unusual transactions that might indicate fraud. If we detect something unusual, we automatically send alerts using the contact information on your account.
We will try to contact you by text if you have a cell phone on file and have not opted out of text notifications. We may also try to contact you through email or by phone.
How Debit Card Fraud Alerts Work
Through email, call or text, all BECU fraud alert notifications attempt to verify if you authorized a recent transaction. Text alerts about debit card activity will come from the number 48704. You will be asked to indicate Yes, you authorized the transaction or No, that wasn't you.
If you reply yes, you can try again to complete the transaction we blocked. If you reply no, we will contact you for more information.
Important: We will never contact you and ask for a one-time passcode (OTP). If someone calls you and asks you to share your one-time passcode with them, do not respond, even if they say they are BECU. End the call immediately. If you believe a criminal has access to your BECU accounts, report it to us immediately at 800-233-2328. Learn more about one-time passcodes and what to expect from BECU.
