How to Make an External Transfer
External transfers allow members to securely move money between their BECU deposit accounts and deposit accounts at other financial institutions through BECU Online Banking and the Mobile App.*

How to Access External Transfers
You can access external transfers in Online Banking or the Mobile App by following these steps:
Online Banking
- Log in to Online Banking.
- Select Transfers - External Transfers.
- Follow the prompts to enroll or add an external account.
Mobile App
- Open the BECU Mobile App and sign in.
- Tap Transfers - External Transfers.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to get started.
How to Enroll in External Transfers
You'll need to complete a one-time enrollment before you can link an external account.
- Go to Transfers - External Transfers.
- Select Sign Up for External Transfers.
- Review and accept the General Terms for Account-to-Account Transfers.
- Verify your Online Banking email address with the code sent to you.
Note: Members must complete enrollment before linking an external account.
How to Link an External Account
Option 1: Instant Verification
- Select Add a New External Account.
- Enter your other bank's login information.
- Complete multi-factor authentication if prompted.
- Choose the account(s) to link.
Option 2: Verify with Test Deposits
- Select Add a New External Account.
- Enter your external bank's routing and account numbers.
- Wait one to three business days for two small deposits.
- Return to BECU to confirm deposit amounts.
How to Make an External Transfer
- Go to Transfers - Create a Transfer.
- Choose From and To accounts.
- Enter amount and view limits.
- Select date and frequency (one-time or recurring).
- Add memo (optional.)
- Review details and submit.
Note: Review transfer details carefully — changes are only possible before processing.

Note: Weekends and holidays are not business days. Transfers submitted on these days will be processed on the next business day, which will be considered day 1 for Standard and Next-Day timing.
Transfer Limits and Fees
- Minimum transfer $10.
- No BECU fees.
- Limits vary by account type and delivery speed.
- Next-day transfers require eligibility.
Canceling or Editing a Transfer
- You can cancel only if not processed.
- Go to Transfers - Scheduled to manage transfers.
Eligibility Requirements
- Members must be 18 or older.
- Accounts must be U.S.-based and in the member's name.
- Applies to personal deposit accounts (checking, savings, money market, eligible brokerage).
- Business accounts not currently supported.

- External account not showing? Verify micro-deposits.
- Transfer delayed? Check processing days.
- Error message? Confirm account info matches.
- Limit reached? Try a smaller amount or wait 24 hours.
