Being BECU: Recognizing Excellence
At BECU, we like to say we’re about more than just money – but how is that enacted? By the BECU employees themselves. Being BECU is a peer-nominated award that recognizes employees’ commitment to BECU, our members and the communities we serve. To that end, numerous employees were nominated for exemplifying BECU’s core values.

15 individuals were ultimately selected as the 2019 Being BECU award recipients. The award was introduced in 2016 as a way to recognize employees who personify BECU's core values. "A key part of our success is recognizing those who are living, demonstrating and delivering on making a difference," says BECU CEO Benson Porter, who described the recipients as dedicated, patient, selfless, genuine, trusted, and who represent our core values: Members First, Do the Right Thing, Know Your Stuff, Be Real, and Own It.
On Thursday, June 6, BECU held its 4th annual Being BECU award ceremony, honoring the 15 recipients and their accomplishments.
Congratulations to this year's award recipients who continue to put our members first, and to the members who benefit from the work of such outstanding employees!
