Visit our Eligibility page to learn more.

Established in 1935 by a group of Boeing employees, a small group of people wanted to help folks buy the tools they needed to get hired during the Great Depression. More than 80 years later, BECU is still guided by that credit union philosophy of "people helping people."

Learn more about BECU history

We live and work in this community. We are proud to roll up our sleeves and help local businesses, schools, artists, athletes and students. Our own employees get 12 hours of paid time off just to volunteer. By providing financial and in-kind resources to others, we build and strengthen our communities.

Our members' voices are a valued resource. Many of our products, services and process ideas come from the members themselves! We make it a priority to listen to our members' feedback. We even conduct quarterly surveys to measure member satisfaction and loyalty, asking, "how likely are you to recommend BECU to a friend or colleague?" In 2019, BECU's score on the survey was over 80%, well above the financial institution average of 35%.

Let's talk credit union benefits.

As a not-for-profit financial co-op, we return profits to the membership in the form of fewer fees, better rates and (free) financial education. We offer free checking, no maintenance fees and no minimum balances.

Community Discounts

We partner with the community to offer some seriously sweet member discounts. Sporting events, Home shows, Auto Shows, local fairs - our team is hard at work finding great community deals for you.

We reward good credit

Every year, we review our members' accounts for money-saving opportunities. As part of this effort, we periodically evaluate the credit rating of each member who has a credit card, line of credit, personal loan, auto loan, boat loan or RV loan with BECU. If you've improved your credit score sufficiently, made timely payments and your account is in good standing, you may earn a better rate (if you're not already receiving our lowest published rate). Who else does that?!

Financial Education

Smart money management shouldn't be a well-kept secret. Part of our mission is to get the word out on managing and improving members' finances. We offer free Financial Heath Checks, numerous (free) seminars and webinars, and an annual member summit. Whether it's buying your first house, saving for college or paying down debt, we'll show you how.
