As members of BECU, everything we represent is inspired by each of you. As a member-owned not-for-profit, we celebrate your efforts and successes when it comes to building a stronger financial future.

Building On Our Legacy 

BECU was founded over 80 years ago by a committed group of individuals whose purpose was to help one another ensure their vital needs were met. In their case, it meant providing small loans so machinists could buy the tools necessary to do their job.

We do that and much more today – pooling funds from deposits to make loans to members to fill their vital needs from housing, transportation, education, retirement and supporting small business. All this in addition to caring for the community and living the purpose of People Helping People.

Adapting to a Changing World

BECU has evolved in many ways over the past decades and ever more rapidly as the world of financial services keeps changing to keep pace with technology. Our story has also evolved to welcome many new generations of members over the years as we broadened our field of membership from serving only the Boeing Company employees to all residents of Washington state.

Given all these changes and growth, we believe it is time that our logo, the most frequently used and recognizable symbol of our organization, be updated to reflect the story not only of who we are, but also of all whom we serve.

The current logo is nearly 30 years old, so this change is also warranted to address some very practical purposes. The current logo design poses many challenges and expenses when adapting its use in both digital and physical spaces.

Inspired by You

Therefore, beginning next month BECU will roll out a newly refined logo. The changes will not be done all at once. Our new locations will feature the new logo, and we will eventually install it at all locations as well as methodically replace items that are out of date.

Eventually we will move everything over to carry that new brand – which we feel strongly represents who we are today. And where we are going.

We will be sharing more inspiration for this change on social media throughout the month – and we will reveal the logo and communicate the full detail to you in our November newsletter.
