Arriving This Summer: Your New Chip Debit Card
You’ll soon receive a new debit card, enabled with EMV chip technology: The card will look exactly the same, and go in your wallet just as before. The difference? When purchasing using your new card, you may be asked to insert, not swipe, the card in the payment terminal. To you, it’s simply a different motion. To your account, it’s a whole new world of fraud protection.
What's New
The card will boast a shiny gold chip, providing additional security that encrypts your information from potential fraudsters. Your card will also have a new expiration date and security code on the back (the card number will remain the same).
How to Prepare
We'll be mailing new debit chip cards via postal mail: Ensure your mailing address is updated in BECU.org Online Banking. Simply log in, then click “Edit Profile” in the upper-lefthand corner. Then, be watching your mailbox. New cards will be mailed throughout the summer months.
