On April 19, more than 600 BECU members came together to celebrate #LocalPride at the credit union's second annual Member Summit.
BECU Celebrated #LocalPride at the 2017 Member Summit
Members attended a variety of networking events and financial education workshops on topics ranging from buying a home to starting a business to retirement planning. They had an opportunity to engage with BECU small-business members in the expo and meet Sounders midfielder Harry Shipp. Some even had their own Sounders-branded debit card printed, adding to the more than 25,000 we've produced for fans since February.
“We work every day to give our members the resources and support they need to build bright financial futures,” said BECU's Tom Berquist, SVP of Marketing and Cooperative Affairs. “The Member Summit gives us a chance to meet our members, find out what's on their minds, and update them on how their credit union is doing. I was inspired by the great energy and spirit of community that comes from bringing 600 BECU members together.”
BECU's leaders talked about the state of the credit union, our innovation and growth over the past year and what we're planning for the future. We had a panel discussion with local leaders from the Sounders FC, the Seattle Storm and KEXP about what makes their connection to the local community so unique. And we closed out the evening with a private concert by members of the band and BECU enthusiasts Hey Marseilles. As a Seattle-based group of BECU members, their performance was a great way to wrap up a night of celebrating #LocalPride.
