Honoring Amazing Members

Member Inspired Giving

As a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative credit union, BECU is rooted in basic principles; principles devoted to giving back: people helping people, members first, social responsibility, and community concern. These values are designed to both honor and support our members and our communities. By putting our members first, we pay it forward in a way that can truly make a difference.

People Helping People Awards

80 years have passed since our founders started BECU with the directive of “people helping people”: In today's 21st century, we work to continue this mission. We are encouraged by the work done by BECU members and non-profit organizations throughout Western Washington, Spokane and  Charleston  South Carolina. The BECU People Helping People Awards were formed to recognize and honor our members and the non-profit organizations they support.

Each year we donate $100,000 to local non-profits.
