BECU Celebrates Grand Opening Northgate Neighborhood Financial Center --Northgate Elementary to be awarded $500 in support of their efforts

Tukwila, Wash. (January 24, 2012) —On Thursday, January 26, at 11:30a.m., BECU will celebrate the grand opening of a new Neighborhood Financial Center (NFC) at 551 NE Northgate Way, Suite B in Seattle. The new location is next to Sleep Country USA and free parking is available in the lot south of the center off of 8th street.

Representatives from the Northgate Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony, which will be followed by Elisa Miller, manager of BECU's Northgate location, presenting a check in the amount of $500 to Northgate Elementary in support of education of our youth in the Northgate community.

The new 3,000 square foot location has 5 consultant desks, 2 ATM's with 24 hour access, and 2 Online Banking Kiosks to better serve members. In addition, members can make an appointment with an Investment Advisor to review their current retirement accounts as well as discuss long term goals. Members can use the location to establish accounts, apply for loans and perform financial transactions -- including free ATM, online and telephone banking services, with staff assistance, if needed.

"Our move to the Northgate area was in response to requests from members of the community and our current members who were looking for a location close to Northgate Mall. The new location is within walking distance to the mall and just about 4 blocks away from the Northgate Transit Center" said Elisa Miller, BECU's Manager of the Northgate location. "Historically, BECU was open only to Boeing employees and their families. Now anyone in the state is eligible to join, and this new location will allow us to continue to grow within the Northgate community."

As with BECU's other Neighborhood Financial Centers, the new Northgate location will be staffed M-F 9am-6pm and Sat. 9am-1pm.
